New tracks have landed!

Hey! Sean here. It's been a minute, hasn't it. After some unforeseen delays the new EP is out on bandcamp, and will be headed to streaming services soon. It's called Homesick For A Place I've Never Been and features an experiment of sorts with the compositional approach. I wrote the tunes for clean guitar, piano, and drums. No bass, no nothing else. Maybe more of a classical trio approach. I intended to hold down the low end with 7 string guitar and piano, and I think it worked, or we wouldn't be talking about it.
Although I wrote most of the music I left a fair chunk of the piano unfinished. After some false starts I talked my friend Robert Bohall into writing and playing. He's a grad student and the U of O, and a frequent collaborator in my jazz trio that plays around the Eugene, Oregon area. Prog is a little out of his wheelhouse but he tackled it head on and I can't thank him enough for his brilliant contributions.
Due to the (understandable) slog of grad school he wasn't able to take on all 4 tunes. However, the other two were more completely finished and in the interest of getting this thing done I played as much as I could on the other two, and had to program a few of the harder passages. I don't feel like this is cheating, any tool to get the job done is fine by me.
And I want to thank Brad for writing and tracking the drums. Brad has been a central piece of this band since the beginning and I'm always thrilled when he can take on a new project with me. Some people might not count drums in the songwriting process but I do. It's just as important, and here, with so few instruments, the drums take on an even more important role.
Download it now (name your price, including free). Also of minor note, this is the first SL release that will be digital only. No CD this for the first time since the Foundation demo in 1999.
